PyCon 2011 is coming up and at $350 for the conference portion, it is a steal. I have went to two PyOhio conferences and have finally been enticed into going to the national conference. Also, it didn’t hurt that next year, I would need to fly to California to go, so I figured I should take the opportunity while it is close.
Technically, the conference is from March 11th to 13th. There are two days of tutorials before and four days of sprints afterwards. I am only going for the conference because I don’t have enough time/money to go for the whole time, but it should be fun.
One final not, I noticed that ESRI is sponsoring the event, which is a really cool company. I took a GIS class in 2005. The class used ArcGIS, which is an industry standard. The cool part is, the internal scripting of ArcGIS is Python, so the sponsorship makes sense. Funny, I still get their full color monthly news letter, so I assume they are profitable
AGI Sponsored this year as well
